My name is Sophia Leissner. I hope to share my writing by posting on this writing blog every month. My writing aims to artistically provide insight into human behavior and our greater society through the examination of poetry, prose, and truthful portrayals of quotidian adolescent life.

I’m based in New York City and Boston, and I find that both cities provide great inspiration for my writing.

Currently studying literature and philosophy, I spend many hours each week writing academically. This blog aims to provide me with a space to post the writing that I do for fun, on my own time. I’ve always loved writing (poetry, novels, analytical papers, and screenwriting) and have often found solace in its embrace, but over time, I became more fascinated with the question of how literature and film both reflect and cause social change. The written and audible word can spark revolutions, both in the arts and in our greater society; to aesthetically unveil the faults of our world and, through that artistry, challenge the status quo is what I aspire to do.

Though primarily a writing blog, this platform will also present photography. My featured photographs capture places in Boston and New York City that have inspired my writing in one way or another.
